Have you ever heard of UNESCO Global Geoparks?
The word "Geopark" is a combination of the word "Geo", meaning the Earth, and "Park".
Geoparks are places where people can learn about and enjoy the Earth (Geo). A UNESCO Global Geopark is a high-quality nature park that has been certified by UNESCO standards. The Oki Islands in the Japanese Prefecture of Shimane have also been recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
Hotel Entô was opened as a "base facility where you can stay" for the Oki UNESCO Global Geopark. The design was done by MOUNT FUJI ARCHITECTS STUDIO and is intended to make visitors feel that they are in the midst of the Geopark landscape spreading out before them. In addition, the CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) construction method was used to realize construction with a minimum number of steps, giving the building the warmth of wood.
In order to make the most of the texture and charm of the wood itself, Osmo Wood Wax Finish and One Coat Only HS Plus in a custom colour were applied to the interior and exterior wood and the solid European Oak flooring was coated with Osmo Polyx-Oil.
