Country Colour
Highly durable natural oil based wood finish offering variable colour intensity and long-term UV protection. One coat produces a transparent finish; two coats produces a highly durable opaque finish.
Ideal for wood cladding, balconies, windows, timber framing, sheds and garden furniture
Microporous, which allows the wood to breathe whilst being resistant against weather as well as UV colour fading.
Will not peel, crack, flake or blister thanks to natural oils penetrating deeply into the wood.
When dry, our finishes unfil both DIN EN 71.3 (suitable for children's toys) and DIN 53160 (resistant to perspiration and saliva), making them safe for humans, animals and plants.
Based on renewable raw materials such as linseed, soybean, sunflower and thistle oils; carnauba and candelilla waxes; as well as colorants manufactured at Osmo facilities in Germany using high quality natural earth pigments which are further refined in our German facility.
Natural earth pigments inhibit UV radiation and provide much longer lasting colour in comparison to generic pigments found in most stains and paints.
Since Osmo pigments are made in-house, we can guarantee an unparalleled level of colour accuracy and longevity.

Sanding: Wood surface should be sanded to P80-P100 grit using a belt sander or similar, and all traces of old finish or paint must be removed. For exterior furniture P120-150 grit is suggested.
Important: A pressure washer can significantly raise the moisture content beyond 20% and surfaces prepared in this manner must be allowed to dry for 2-3 weeks before applying finish.
1. If possible apply the first coat on all sides of the boards before installation
2. Use an Osmo Flat Brush or Osmo Microfibre Roller to apply the finish thinly and evenly, along the wood grain
3. Allow 10 to 12 hours drying time, then apply a thin second coat as above. Dried surface is satin-glossy at first and
afterwards is satin.
Note: The finish may also be buffed into the wood, in thin applications using a non-abrasive white pad or microfibre applicator pad.
Tip: The type and age of timber can have a dramatic impact on how much Country Colour you need.
As an example, softwood decking that is old will likely require more oil than a relatively new hardwood decking that still retains a fair amount of natural oil.
To test how much oil your wood needs, apply one thin coat, allow it to dry, then apply a droplet of oil in a corner. If the droplet of oil soaks into the wood then a further coat can be applied.
Repeat this process until the droplet of oil sits as a bead on the surface of the wood and no longer soaks into the timber. This is an indication that the timber has absorbed as much oil as possible and doesn’t require any more.
WARNING: Cloths saturated with product are a spontaneous combustion hazard and should be left out unfolded until dried, prior to disposal or preferably stored in a proper fireproof
container.
